Obituary

Randy was born November 20 th 1969 to Alan and Dotty Ruud of Niter Idaho. He was later adopted by Jerry Harwood of Grace in 1982 several years after Dotty married Jerry. This was when his name was changed to Randy Jer Harwood.  He was also known to some as RJ. Randy was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and believed whole heartedly in being a good person. Randy would often lend people money and never expect it to be returned. On the other hand if he borrowed money he would always return it.

Randy was the fifth child. His older siblings were Rocky, Ricky, Sonja, and Nancy.  He later became the older brother to three boys born to Dotty and Jerry Harwood. These were Creed, Hoyt and Austin. Randy also had two step brothers and a step sister, Teddy Ruud, Suzy Hart (Ruud) and Tony Ruud. These three were all quite close to his own age and they were a big part of his life. Randy loved and cared for all of his siblings and all of them were influential in his life, as was he in theirs. All eleven had many family reunions together. Randy had good relationships with his parents and he often used his mother's love, hospitality and home as a stepping stone when he moved back to the area.

Randy married Marilyn Bieker in 1996. They spent half of their marriage in Grace and the other half in Gooding. They later divorced. That same year (96) his only child Shaunie was born. He loved his daughter with all his heart and was a very gentle father. He also loved and cared for his step son Tanner Ryder very much and thought of him as his own. He was never judgmental and always tried to be a patient and understanding father. Randy had a long time relationship with Erika Alverez of Grace Idaho, He considered her daughter Monica as one of his own. as well.

Randy loved to go camping several times a year with his family, friends, children and grandchildren. He loved to go sleigh riding several times a winter. He liked to take his family, friends, children, and grandchildren on fishing trips. And maybe most of all he liked to light off fireworks with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He would always buy so many fireworks that his siblings would often get complaints from their children for not keeping up with Uncle Randy, adjustments were definitely made to rectify this situation. The result would often lead to hours of fireworks that would end after midnight.

Randy was a very kind hearted person and would help anyone do just about anything. At a very young age Randy was comfortable outdoors even in the coldest conditions. He especially loved the mountains and the snow. He loved to ride horses and had several over the years. He loved to riffle hunt for deer, bow hunt elk and had a large group of friends that he went to (Diamond Creek bow camp) with every year. Randy loved playing and watching sports. In his youth he loved playing sports and going on camping trips with the Boy Scouts. Randy was a very good cook and would try almost anything. He once ate tree squire with onions and puff mushrooms at bow camp. Randy loved to hunt for asparagus and puff mushrooms.

Randy's step father Jerry worked in construction and often traveled for work. Because of this Randy was well traveled and made friends everywhere he went. Randy spent time in Texas, Arizona, California, Washington, Connecticut, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, Utah and Indiana. Randy often went back to these places to visit and sometimes would stay for months or even years.

Randy was a hard worker. He worked most of his life as a mechanic and a welder. He was very gifted at mechanics and could fix almost anything. He worked most of his life for Mark-3, Agrium, Zachary and Rocky Mountain Fabrication (RMF). While welding for RMF he traveled to many more places and made many more friends.

Randy didn't complain much but he was in a car accident in his early twenties and had to have back surgery. This led to many years of pain. This weakness in his back led to a susceptibility to back injury. This in turn led to several more back surgeries. Through it all he provided for his family and supported his family and his friends.

Randy was proceeded in death by his two siblings Joni Harwood and Tommy Harwood. Aunts Jane Ruud, Shirley Fowler, Rhoady Burnham, Betty Gagon and Barbra Babanaue. Uncles Larry Burnham, Franklin Burnham, Paul Burnham, Ray Welker and Floyd Harwood. Cousins Erik Ruud, Margret Babanaue, Michael Gagon, Tod Harwood, Kevin Fowler, Mike Fowler and Bruce Burnham. Nephew Cameron Ruud and step father Richard Mollett.

Randy is survived by his daughter Shaunie Harwood of Gooding. Shaunie has three children Ivey Presly of Soda Springs. Zepplin Diggs and Ozzy Diggs of Gooding. Randy loved his three grandchildren very much and loved to spend time with them. Ozzy was born just down the hall from randy two days after he went into the Twin Falls Hospital. Randy was delighted to meet his only grandson the day after his birth. Ozzy snuggled into Randy's beard smiled several times and fell asleep within thirty seconds of being in his grandfather's arms. Randy is also survived by his father Alan Ruud Grace, Mother Dotty Mollett Georgetown, stepfather Jerry (Charmain) Harwood Tremonton UT.
