Reed Nuffer Christensen, formerly of Grace, Idaho, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 surrounded by family on October 22, 2018 in South Jordan Utah.
He was born in Central, Idaho on August 17, 1928. He was preceded in death by his parents Heber and Florence Christensen. His wife, Pauline Lloyd Christensen, his sister Louise Christensen Hatch and a grandson. He is survived by his four children, Kerry Lloyd Christensen (Kathie), Wallace Lloyd Christensen (Kim), Barret Lloyd Christensen (Kaye) and Karla Jo Christensen Holyoak (Mitch), His brother Paul Christensen (Winnifred), and a brother-in-law Lorin Hatch. He has 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Reed grew up in Lund, Grace and Preston, Idaho and for a short time lived in Arizona. He graduated from Preston High School in 1946 and attended BYU. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Northern California Mission. He served his country honorably as field tank mechanic during the Korean War.
Reed married his sweetheart Pauline Lloyd on December 3, 1953 in the Logan LDS Temple. He was active in the LDS Church all his life and served in various callings including High Priest Group Leader and he served with Pauline as temple workers in the Logan Temple for many years. He was a member of the Grace Lion's Club and served on the Grace High School School Board. He loved to fly his Piper Cherokee Six airplane, spending many happy hours in the air. He raised seed potatoes, wheat, barley and peas on his farm near Grace.
Funeral services will be held at the Grace Idaho Stake Center on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. A viewing will be held at the Stake Center from 11-11:45 a.m. Services will begin at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be at the Central Cemetery.
