Richard Baer Campbell 89, of Lago Idaho passed away peacefully on Thursday August 12, 2021 in Soda Springs Idaho.
He was born on January 12, 1932 to Theron Mathews Campbell and Lucille Baer Campbell in Logan Utah. He grew up in Providence, Utah and graduated from South Cache High School in 1949. After high school he played football his freshman year at Utah State University. He then joined the U.S. Airforce as a mechanic on B-29 Bomber airplanes in Guam. After his service he continued his education at Utah State and received his B.S. degree in Animal Science in 1957.
He met and married Laura Lou Lamb on June 17, 1955 in Logan LDS Temple. They were later divorced. They have 6 six children Ted (Linda Bair) Campbell of Richmond, Utah, Rex (Nora) Campbell or Grace, Idaho, Ann (Steven) Hunt, of Hyde Park, Utah. Joan (Kimbur) Hyer of Lewiston, Utah. Paul (Becky Mendenhall) Campbell of Grace, Idaho. Dean (Ash Johnson) Campbell of North Logan, Utah. He had his first teaching job in Jordan, Utah School District. He then moved back to Cache Valley and taught at North Cache High School and then transferred to Sky View High School where he taught Ag Mechanics (welding) until 1987. He worked part time in the summers in at the Rock Quarry in Providence and farmed in Lago, Idaho. He was a great provider for his family.
He retired and moved to Lago, Idaho where he farmed and raised sheep and worked at Monsanto. He thought a lot of his kids and taught them the value of hard work and to be honest. He was very talented in welding, mechanics, wood working and sheep ranching and a wonderful Cook. He enjoyed his time living in Lago.
He is survived by his six children, 13 Grand children and 26 great grandchildren. He loved his grandchildren and was always concerned about them. He is also survived by two sisters Louise (Claire) Hill of Gilbert, Az., and Katherine (Neil) Kelly of Torrington, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Garr Campbell and a sister Jeneane King and one grandson Corey Campbell.
By his request there will be a grave side service Saturday August 14, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Lago Cemetery in Lago, Idaho.
The family would like to thank Dr. John Franson and staff, Kebra Holsten, Lynzi Hobbs and the staff at Edgewood Care Center and Home Health and Hospice for their kind loving care they provided.
