Obituary

Richard Daryl Fisher, 79: of Soda Springs passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Veterans Hospital.

Richard was born on June 16, 1930 in Oxford, Idaho the son of Victor R. and Jenny Cecil Tucker Fisher.

He graduated from Westside LDS High School and then attended the University of Idaho in Moscow for two years and then he entered to United States Air Force and served in the Korean War.

Richard married Loretta J. Bertram on July 28, 1956 in Sumter, South Carolina. They were later divorced.

He married Jerrie L. Paris on September 19, 1981 in Laramie, Wyoming. She passed away September 24, 1997.

Richard moved to Soda Springs in 1964 and in 1975 he then moved to Washington, and later to Wyoming and then to Lava Hot Springs where he resided until 2005 then returned to Soda Springs for the last 5 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He was also a member of the VFW.

Richard enjoyed Sports, Fishing, Cooking and being with his family.

He is survived by 5 daughters; Sharon and Rusty Short of Soda Springs, ID; Vicky Jones of Soda Springs, ID; Joan and Martin Davis of Clarkston, Washington; Toni Fisher of Soda Springs, ID; and Marcia and David Jackson of Yakima Washington. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, one brother Stan Fisher of San Carlos, Mexico and three sisters Alta Christensen of Rexburg, ID; Lucille Franzen of Salt Lake City, UT; and Bess Eads of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jerrie, a brother Russell Fisher, and three sisters Lula Savage, Jean Tanner, Mildred Toone and a son-in-law Randy Jones.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery.

The family suggests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
