Obituary
Soda Springs; Robert "Bob" Farrell Rider, 79; of Soda Springs, Idaho passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 29, 2011.
Bob was born April 22, 1932 in Logan, Utah, the son of Farrell W. and Martha Marie Thompson Rider.
He married Patricia Ann Sibbett on August 16, 1958 in Soda Springs, Idaho. They later divorced. She passed away December 19, 1980.
Bob worked at the Russells Ice Cream Factory in Salt Lake for 35 years until he retired in 1994.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and raising his cats.
Bob is survived by three sons; Dean Robert and Rhonda Rider of Ellensburg, WA; Joe Kenneth and Sophie Paul of Roy, UT; Ward and Shannon Whitney of Soda Springs, ID; and three daughters; Connie Ann and Eddie Parise of Soda Springs, ID; Janet Lee and Kerry Lee of West Bountiful, UT; Debbie Sue and Gary Ashdown of Battle Mountain, NV; daughter-in-law, Sheri Rider of Soda Springs, ID. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and one on the way; a brother Jerry Rider, and two sisters, Jackie Johnson and Kathy Steele. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lois, a son Donald Roscoe Rider and a son-in-law Daniel Stark Simmons.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
