Robert C Harris left this earth to join his eternal sweetheart on Thursday, June 16, 2022.
He was born on September 15, 1939, in Logan, Utah to Guy and Cora Harris. He was their second son and the seventh child in their blended family. He had three brothers and three sisters,
Vard Harris, Loren Wilson, McGee Harris, Marjorie Harris, Mardean Harris, and CarlaMae Wilson.
Robert was raised on the family ranch in Lago, Idaho. He grew up an active child tending sheep cattle and horses from an early age. His best friend was his brother McGee. He had many lifelong friends from his school years at Thatcher Elementary, Grace Junior High and Grace High School. He graduated from Grace High school in 1957.
Robert was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He attended the Trout Creek Ward until it was joined with the Bench Ward when he was in his teens. It was shortly after the formation the Williams Ward that he noticed a spunky dark-haired girl. He was smitten. He courted Ruth Lee Clegg for the next four years and they were married on June 15, 1961, in the Logan LDS Temple.
Robert and Ruth embraced their new life as a team. Together they raised six children and built a life on their ranch. They had many ups and downs in their lifetimes but weathered them together setting a lifelong example for their children.
Robert served in many church callings faithfully and humbly. His final calling was as a temple worker in the Logan Temple until they were released.
Robert was a lifelong rancher in Lago Idaho. He also served on the board of directors for the Idaho Cattlemen's Association for a time. His good-natured humble personality won him many friends here and across the nation hauling cattle and oil.
Robert liked to travel, but only when Ruth was with him. They were rarely apart. They enjoyed many trips to ghost towns and historic destinations throughout the West.
Ruth passed away on February 19th, 2022.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Lee, his parents Guy and Cora Harris, his in-laws Owen and Merna Clegg, his brothers, and sisters Vard Harris, Loren Wilson, McGee Harris, Marjorie Panter, Mardean Andreason, Carla Mae Thompson, his son Robert C. Harris Jr., two grandsons James Reed and Carson Harris, and his brother-in-law Robert W Clegg.
He is survived by his children Ross (Debbie) Harris, Lago, ID, Relda (Richard) Jacobson, Oak City, UT, Renae (Troy) Hendricks, Bountiful, UT, Raquel (Dennis) Reed, Bancroft, ID, Ryan (Jessica) Harris, Logan UT, and Reed (Brandee) Harris, Lago Id. He has 24 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law Georgia Wilson, Janet Harris, Beth C Spotten, Leana (John) Walker, Barbara Clegg, Dean (Leslie) Clegg, and DeMar (Kim) Clegg.
A viewing will be held Friday June 24, from 6-8pm and Saturday June 25, from 10-11:30 at the Thatcher/Williams church. The Funeral will be held on Saturday June 25 th in the Williams/ Thatcher church at 12pm. Internment will be in the Lago Cemetery.
