Obituary

Grandpa Bob returned to his heavenly home on November 25, 2012 surrounded by his family, following a valiant battle with cancer. Robert was born in Gooding, Idaho to Richard Woodrow Jardine and Lorentze Jensen. Bobby, as he was affectionately called by his mother and family, grew up in Salt Lake City where he attended South High School and Jefferson Ward, and BYU in Provo. He served an LDS mission to Norway from 1956-58. Following a year of military service, he married Myrna Jean Brimley in the Salt Lake Temple on May 15, 1959. Over the past 53 years, Bob and Myrna have lived in Salt Lake City, Heber Valley, and Grace, Idaho. An amazing father to 5 girls and 4 boys, he taught each how to work hard, laugh often, serve tirelessly, and love deeply. Bob was a skilled electrician, mechanic, builder, and farmer. He was a lead electrician for Wasatch Electric for many years. On his farm in Grace he was the "Hay Dude", spending countless hours in the field swathing, raking, baling, and hauling his fine alfalfa hay. He was a great builder in many ways, including the lives of many young men as a scout leader, the lonely and elderly, and neighbors and friends; all were edified and uplifted by this kind-hearted man. Most importantly, he was and will continue to be the worthy patriarch of his family, loved and respected as a Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Brother, Bishop, and Friend. His family was his greatest work and treasure on earth. Survived by his loving companion Myrna, children Annette (Scott) Elsmore of Grace, Kevin (Christi) of Salt Lake City, Kirk (Amy) of North Logan, Keith (Joleen) of North Salt Lake, Kory (Jilane) of Pleasant View, Andrea (Tim) Nielsen of Hyrum, Amy (Ryan) Knight of Park City, Alyse (Thayne) White of Grace, Annie (Mark) Stevenson of Hyrum; thirty-four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; brother Don (Mona), sisters Betty Morris, Deanne Cook, and Shirley (Dale) Briggs. Family and friends visitation will be Friday, Nov. 30, 6 - 8 PM and Saturday, Dec. 1, 10 - 11:30 AM. Memorial Service at 12:00. Visits and service to be held at Thatcher/Williams Ward, 2060 Niter Bench Road, Niter, Idaho 83241. A special thanks to Access Home Care and Hospice for their loving care. Interment - Lago Cemetery, south of Grace, Idaho. Listen to service:
