IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Victor
Nielsen
February 12, 1999 – August 17, 2022
Robert Victor Nielsen, 23, passed away Wednesday August 17th, 2022.
Robert was born on February 12, 1999 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Troy and Brenda Nielsen.
From its very beginning, his life was an adventure. With a team of brave doctors, strong parents, and a loving Heavenly Father; and with the fierce determination that would characterize him throughout his life, Robert survived his first day and never looked back.
Robert grew up in Soda Springs, Idaho, where he was known all around town as the happy, talkative, boy his parents Troy and Brenda took everywhere they went. In school, Robert was an eager learner who was always confident and willing to try things out. He was well liked and popular among his classmates and was voted Junior Prom King. He graduated as Valedictorian from Soda Springs High School in 2017.
Robert also attended Brigham Young University - Idaho, where he graduated with a bachelors' degree in Computer Science in 2021. Here also, he was always known as an excellent student and as someone to consult whenever help was needed. His skills as a tutor empowered classrooms of students on campus, as well as students living as far as Ghana, Africa, all of whom knew him to be generous with his time as well as his intellect. He loved to share his ideas, teach, and uplift those around him. He was a close friend to many.
He went on to become a very accomplished and skilled computer programer. After graduation he worked on multiple independent web development projects, was a sought after, creative, team member, and was hired by Spudnik as their head quality assurance officer. He was very proud of the professional asset he had become.
Throughout his life Robert had a great love for games, board games, chess, video games, and table-top role-playing games with his friends and family. He loved challenges and competition, he loved to best his brothers, sisters, and their friends in any kind of contest. Robert was also a determined and talented artist, who especially favored pencil art and painting. He enjoyed animals, and they were often the subject of his drawings. Robert loved listening to music, and was known to have good taste in a huge variety of genres. He liked to design and 3D print his own creations. He liked to explore nature, both alone and with his family members during hikes and campouts. He often related with great fondness his memories of hunting with his father and grandfather. Robert loved conversation and making people laugh. Above all, he loved spending time with the people he loved.
Robert had a special relationship with his parents, grandparents, and siblings. He was truly loving, and was thrilled to have become a brother-in-law and uncle to his expanding family. He brought humor and life to every family gathering and will continue to be the subject of many stories.
His family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, aides, and members of his community that reached out to help make his life amazing. He knows how loved he was and did not take that love for granted.
He is survived by his parents Troy and Brenda Nielsen, his siblings Matt (McKenna) Nielsen, Andy Nielsen, Jamie (Zach) Dixson, Jennifer Nielsen, Thomas Nielsen, and Joseph Nielsen. He is also survived by loving grandparents, Janice Nielsen and Russell Miller.
He is preceded in death by grandmother, Karen Miller, and grandfather, Ronald Nielsen.
