Roene Potter Barfuss, 76, of Bancroft passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at her home.
Roene was born on March 30, 1941 in Bancroft, Idaho the daughter of Luther LeRoy and Alice Payne Potter.
She was raised in Lava Hot Springs and graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1959. She married Lester Oliver Barfuss when she was 18 on September 25, 1959 in Bancroft. They recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in September. They have lived in the same house since 1962.
Roene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served in the Primary, Young Womens and Relief Society Presidencies. She also had served
as Geneology consultant, compassionate service leader and scout leader.
She was also active as D.U.P. President and helped with he Bancroft 24th of July Rodeo and babysat several children. She worked for Terry Rindlisbaker in the potatoes
for over 30 years.
Roene loved her family and attended everything they were involved in. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading, cooking and she made the best rolls.
Roene is survived by her husband Lester Barfuss of Bancroft, ID, and four sons and one daughter, Wyatt Barfuss of Bancroft, ID, Cody and Lisa Barfuss of Bancroft, ID,
Brett and Bonnie Barfuss of Soda Springs, ID, Jake and Suzanne Barfuss of Bancroft, ID, and Joani and Wade Davis of Sterling, ID. She is also survived by 17
grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jerel Potter of Salt Lake City, UT, Fawn Potter of Lava Hot Springs, ID, and three sisters Karen Armstrong of
Smithfield, UT, Peggy chandler of Inkom, ID, JoAnn Robinson from California. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Noon at the Bancroft LDS Ward Chapel. Family will visit with friends on Monday evening at the Sims Funeral Home
from 6-7 p.m. and on Tuesday morning from 10-11-30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery.
