Roger W. Humpherys, 78, of Pocatello, formerly of Soda Springs, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016.

He was born on August 11, 1938 in Montpelier, Idaho to Lewis and Erma Dalrymple Humpherys. He was the second of four children.

He graduated from Soda Springs High School in 1956. He attended Ricks College. He married his high school sweetheart, Lynda, in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 25, 1960.

Roger worked for Central Farmers as well as other side jobs in Soda Springs before going to work for Kerr McGee Chemical Company in Soda Springs. He worked there for 36 years then retired.

He was the membership clerk for the LDS second ward in Soda Springs for 20 years. They moved to Pocatello in 2009.

He and Lynda had five children. The oldest son, Roby (Julia), lives in Boise, ID., son Shawn (Sina) lives in Taylorsville, UT., daughter Staci (Scott) Nelson lives in Pocatello, ID., son Broc (Julianne) lives in Idaho Falls, and daughter Tia lives in Logan, UT. He had 13 grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Lynda Humpherys, and children, brother Larry Humpherys of Tracy, CA., sister-in-law Peggy Tolley of Meridian, ID., uncle-in-law Ron Tolley of UT., and aunt-in-law Sharon Stevenson of UT., along with three nephews and four nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law John and Shirley Tolley, and one brother-in-law Micheal Tolley.

Graveside services will be in Soda Springs on Friday December 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM. There will be a short visitation at Sims Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to going to the Cemetery.
