Romola Hansen Solum, 94 years old died peacefully on April 24th, 2012 in Montpelier, Idaho.
Romola was born September 9, 1917 in Teton City, Idaho the daughter of Andrew Christian and Catherine Dean Hansen.
She earned her associates degree from Ricks College and later earned her B.A. in Logan, Utah.
Romola married the love of her life, Edwin L. Solum, on June 18, 1941 in Teton City, Idaho. They adopted two beautiful boys, Hal Solum and Kim Solum. They all lived in Georgetown, Idaho where she taught school in Nounan and in Georgetown until retiring in 1981.
She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She is survived by her sisters Leah Jaussi, Katherine Browning; her son and his wife Hal and Terri Solum; her grandchildren Heidi Solum, Barbie Braun, Jason Solum, Nicole (Derek) Price, Eddie Solum, Sidney Solum and Stacey Solum; and her 11 great grandchildren.
In death, Romola once again meets her husband, Edwin L. Solum, her parents Andrew Hansen and Myrtle Catherine Dean, her brother William Hansen, her children Peggy Solum, Cort Solum, baby Solum, and Kim Solum and her grandchildren Michael Solum and Taylor Solum.
Services will be held at the Georgetown LDS Church on Friday, April 27th at Noon; a Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. The internment will be at the Georgetown Cemetery, immediately following services.
