He graduated from Taft High School in Lincoln City, OR. He married Leigh Ann Warner on September 12, 1968 in the Idaho Falls Temple. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he studied graphic design at U. of Idaho and earned a BA in Art from ISU. His love of teaching inspired him to return to school for a K-8 teaching certificate. He taught for 18 years at Mountain View Elementary in McCammon, ID and 8 years in Lakewood WA. While teaching in McCammon, Ronald was a member of the Idaho Education Association, delegate to the National Education Association and President for Marsh Valley Education Association. He retired in 2011 and moved to Soda Springs in 2015. Ronald was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in various callings throughout the years: Sunday School President, Ward Mission President, High Priest Group Leader, Young Men's Presidency, Bishop's Counselor, Bishop of Elk Plain Ward in Graham, WA and Gospel Doctrine Teacher. One of his great loves was Scouting. He mentored numerous Eagle Scouts, served as Scoutmaster in 4 different communities, and Cubmaster 4 times. He was Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner for the Tendoy Council. Ronald found joy in riding his motorcycle through the National Parks, returning countless times to his favorite, Yellowstone. As a graphic artist, he loved collecting comic books. As a connoisseur of all things Star Trek, he would often say, "Live long and prosper." He is survived by his wife and three children: Randy (Kathy) of Mohrweiler, Germany; Sean of Soda Springs; Jeannine of Burnsville, Minnesota; one granddaughter Brittney Robinett of Seattle, WA.
