Rondo William Perkins of Chesterfield, Idaho passed away on Saturday October 3, 2020 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho.

Rondo was born on July 2, 1941 in Chesterfield, ID and was the second child of Maurice and Klea Perkins. He was raised on the family farm milking cows and farming with his 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Rondo attended North Gem Schools from K-12. He then joined the Navy in 1959 where he served honorably for 4 years until 1963. After Rondo returned home, he was introduced to a beautiful young woman named Julie Finlayson. Rondo and Julie were married July 10 ^th , 1964 in Soda Springs, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on October 4 ^th , 1996. In their early years Rondo and Julie lived in Conda, ID then they eventually moved to Chesterfield where he worked with his grandfather, Grandville Call on the farm. In April of 1972 Rondo purchased the farm from his Grandmother Elva Call and it came to be known as CV Ranches. Rondo and Julie had 4 children together, William "Bill", Ronda, Tonya and Bobbie. Not only did Rondo raise his own 4 children but he helped raise numerous other boys that came to work on the farm during summers. Some of these boys chose not to stay just for the summer but they wanted to stay and go to school in Bancroft and live with Rondo and Julie. Rondo helped to mold these boys into the wonderful men that they are today.

In 1999 Rondo and Julie set out on a new adventure and purchased a resort in Rarotonga, Cook Islands.  Crown Beach Resort and Spa came to be a labor of love for Rondo and Julie. They updated it and added onto it and turned it into a beautiful 4-star resort. Rondo became a beach bum cowboy going back and forth from the farm to the island.

Rondo is survived by Ronda (Trudy) Perkins, Tonya (Grant) Simons, Bobbie (Dave) Garner. 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren with one more on the way, Brothers Wayne (LaPreal) Perkins & Clayon (Shanna) Perkins, Sisters Marsha Smith & Zandra Perkins. Numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Rondo is proceeded in death by his mother & father, brothers Odell (Karen), Delos (Julie T) & Leon, his wife Julie Finlayson Perkins and his son William "Bill" Perkins.

The Family would like to thank Portneuf Medical Center ICU and IV Therapy for the numerous times they have taken care of our father. We appreciate the love and dignity that he was always given.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday October 7 ^th , 2020 in Soda Springs, Idaho at Sims Funeral Home from 6pm-8pm. Funeral will be held on Thursday, October 8 ^th at 12pm at the Chesterfield Cemetery for a graveside service so that more people may attend. Please bring your lawn chairs as there won't be enough chairs available.
