Ruth Ella DeGraw David ~ Born October 22, 1930 ~  Passed June 15, 2026

Ruth was born to Freda Felicia Bahem/DeGraw and George Arthur DeGraw in Jerome, Idaho.

The family moved to LaBarge, Wyoming. George and Freda DeGraw had a small ranch on the Green River, one mile outside of LaBarge, Wyoming. 

Ruth earned the nickname of Tid. She told many accounts of helping her father on the ranch with anything he needed help with. 

The DeGraw family was musically talented and most everyone played some instrument for special occasions and get togethers. Ruth played the accordion. She told stories of getting supplies by wagon from Kemmer. 

Ruth was introduced to Arvel Arthur David, a widower with one daughter, Janice David.

Arvel and Ruth were married on October 15, 1946. They would have five children together: Luella, Arvella, Bryan, Gayla and Darrell.

They combined entrepreneur businesses, a service station, laundromat and auto repair business in La Barge, Wyoming. They moved to Soda Springs, Idaho. Ruth was a homemaker, radiator repair person, bookkeeper, postal clerk/mail delivery, and school bus driver. Ruth was instrumental in the success of every business. She managed both the repair shop and a Montgomery Ward Store. 

Ruth was a great cook and made amazing pancakes and egg butter. She was instrumental in canning produce and processing wild game and domestic animals. 

She is preceded in death by George DeGraw (father), Freda DeGraw (mother), Georgia (sister), Audrey (sister), Jimmy (brother), Melvin (brother), Gary (brother), Arvel (husband), Bryan (son), Janice (daughter), Kelly Preece (son-in-law), Greg Kunz (son-in-law), Glena David (daughter-in-law)

She is survived by Ross DeGraw (brother), Luella Ames (daughter), Arvella Kunz (daughter), Gayla Lednisky (daughter) and Darrell David (son), 22 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held June 27, 2026, at 10am at Sims Funeral Home. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9-10am. Burial will follow in the Viola Cemetery in La Barge, Wyoming at 2pm.
