Obituary

Ruth Lee Clegg Harris left her earthly body to return to Heaven on February 19, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Ruth was born on March 9, 1943 in Bench, Idaho to Owen Dale and Merna McGregor Clegg.  She was the second child of six.  Ruth was raised on the family farm in Bench.  She grew up helping with chores, racing her horse and being a spitfire.  That is a trait she carried to the very end.  She attended school in Grace, where she graduated from Grace High School in 1961.  Shortly after graduation she married the tall handsome love of her life, Robert C Harris in the Logan LDS Temple.  Together, they built a life on the ranch in Lago, raising their children.  They taught them to work hard and to be kind to others among many other life skills.  Wherever Robert was, Ruth wasn't far away.  She loved helping him with the cattle, fences, grain harvests etc.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints attending the Williams Ward for most of her life.

Ruth loved horses and as a child she dreamed of being a jockey.  She had a need for speed.  Anyone who rode in the car when Ruth was driving found that out.  She loved being outside.  One of her favorite activities was mowing her lawn and tending her flowers.  Antique stores and wallpaper shops were high on her favorite things list too.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert C Harris, six of her seven children, Ross (Debbie) Harris of Lago, ID, Relda (Richard) Jacobson of Oak City, UT, Renae (Troy) Hendricks of Bountiful, UT, Raquel (Dennis) Reed of Bancroft, ID, Ryan (Jessica) Harris of Logan, UT and Reed (Brandee) Harris of Lago, ID.  She has 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, also her siblings, O Dean Clegg of Smithfield, UT, Beth C Spotten of Spanish Fork, UT, Leana Walker of Rigby, ID and DeMar M Clegg of Bench, ID.  She was preceded in death by her parents Owen and Merna Clegg, her in-laws Guy and Cora Harris, her brother Robert W Clegg, and an also her infant son Robert C Harris Jr., two grandsons Carson Harris and James Reed.
