Ruth Mendenhall passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at her home in Soda Springs, Idaho. She was born January 27, 1932 to Newell Beck Passey and Mary Olive Smith in Lanark, Idaho. She was the sixth child in a family of eleven children. She had six sisters and four brothers.

The family moved to Georgetown, Idaho when she was young. She attended school in Georgetown, Idaho and graduated from the high school there.

Ruth married Eldon Sorensen and they were later divorced. She married Earl Robert Larsen and they had a son, Brett Larsen. They later divorced. She then married Claude Vernon Mendenhall on February 25, 1975 in Reno, Nevada.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Claude, her parents, her four brothers, Harold, Darrel, Roy, and Dennis and three sisters, Leda Bradley, Ellen Clark, and Faye Wilcox, and her son, Brett Larsen and stepson Brian Mendenhall.

She is survived by three sisters, Joyce Brown, Edith Matthews, and Doris Rogers and five step-children, Vivien Mendenhall, Peggy (Richard) Owens, Julie (Kevin) Bitton, Vernon (Ann) Mendenhall, and Shauna Manhart. She is also survived by one grandson, and two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many step-grand and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Lago Cemetery.
