Obituary

Ruth Adell Barfuss Priestley, 71; was reunited with her Eternal Sweetheart on April 11, 2011.

Ruth was born on December 23, 1939 in Bancroft, Idaho the daughter of Leland and Marelda Barfuss.

She lived in Bancroft most of her life and graduated from North Gem High School in 1958.

Ruth married Blaine William Priestley on May 19, 1958 in the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away on July 5, 2009.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had served in various callings including Relief Society and Primary Presidencies, Primary Teacher, and visiting teacher. She also served with her husband as Temple Officiators in the Logan Temple and as missionaries at the Chesterfield Historical Site.

She enjoyed Humanitarian Service Projects and volunteering with reading groups and other projects at the Elementary and Middle School in Bancroft. She was also a member of a square dancing club, homemakers club and had been involved in a Bowling League.

Ruth also liked crocheting, reading, sewing, cooking and attending high school sports and activities.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Rodney (Teena) Priestley of Hyde Park, UT; Mark (Linda) Priestley of Bancroft, ID; Radell (Mark) Trout of Syracuse, UT. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, one brother Burt Barfuss of Bancroft, ID. She was preceded in death by her husband Blaine, a sister Karen Compton, a grandson, Garrett Trout and a sister-in-law, Sue Barfuss.

Services will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Noon at the Bancroft LDS Chapel. The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs and on Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery.
