Obituary

Luetta "Sally" Barratt, of Grace, Idaho, quietly passed away December 6, 2020 in Lehi, Utah.

She was born in Provo, Utah on December 31, 1934 to Lynn Willis and Ada Elizabeth Hamilton Goodridge. Sally grew up in the Lakeview Ward in Provo, Utah on a small dairy farm. She milked cows by hand both morning and night, walked to and from school up hill (both ways).  She had a passion for riding horses, the only horses they had at the time were the work horses.  When she was 16, her dad surprised her with her first horse, Cinder. Sally graduated from Lincoln High School.  Later that summer Sally met the love of her life at the Saratoga Amusement Park in Lehi, Utah. Don Barratt, a US Navy guy from American Fork, who quickly swept her off her feet and proposed to her shortly after they met.  They were married on October 15, 1953 in Lakeview, Utah and went deer hunting for their honeymoon. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple, 15 October 1956.

Sally and Don moved to Long Beach, California while Don was serving in the US Navy. They moved from California to American Fork, Utah where Mindy, Mike and Michelle were born.  In the fall of 1964 they moved to Pleasant Grove where their last kid, Mark was born. Six years later they moved to American Fork where the three oldest got married and mom tore out their bedroom walls to prevent them from returning. Don and Sally had to move 20 years later to get rid of Mark.  They found the perfect little farm, which mom had dreamed of her whole life.  They loaded the cows, left Utah and the kids and moved into the old Basset Farm in Lago, Idaho.  They were living there until Don passed away in February 2017.  Sally and Don both fell in love with the people and the area.  They would both grow homesick when they would travel to Utah to check on the kids.

Sally is survived by daughter, Mindy Sager; son, Mike (Wendy) Barratt; daughter, Michelle (Randy) Shepherd; son, Mark (Melissa) Barratt. She is also survived by grandchildren Jace Sager, Amanda (Sean) Thompson, Brigette (Christian) DeGrey, Cassiejo (Brent) Allen, Dominick (Megan) Barratt, Keagan Shepherd, Kasha (Ryan) Arbon, Keldon (Loni) Shepherd, Wyatt Barratt, Kodee Barratt, Ashley Barratt, and Lexi Barratt. Sally is also survived by her brothers, Bill (Joesphine) Goodridge and John (Glenda) Goodridge and by 18 great grandchildren.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son-in-law (Ron Sager), a grandson (Shane Sager), and her sister, Karma Goodridge.

The funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at 11:00 AM, with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services for close friends and family.  The services will be at the Niter Church located at 2060 Niter Bench Road, Grace, Idaho.
