Obituary

Scot Floyd Allen of Burley and formally of Soda Springs, Idaho, returned to the loving arms of his Father in Heaven on the family ranch, the morning of May 14, 2021.

He was born August 14, 1955 in Soda Springs, Idaho. He was the second oldest son of Preston and Connie Allen. Scot married Debra Dimond on January 22, 1980 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they were blessed with three beautiful children. Kimberly, Sara, and son, Matthew.

Scot grew up on the Allen Ranch North of Soda Springs.  There, he learned to love nature, hard work, and his dislike for milking the family cow. He attended school in Soda Springs until 1971, when the family moved to Raft River where he finished school at Declo High School. He was active in both wrestling and football. Scot furthered his education by attending Ricks College until serving a faithful mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in San Diego, California.

Scot enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader and served faithfully in various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had a devout love for his Father in Heaven and would never pass up an opportunity to share his testimony of the gospel with others.

Scot always said his greatest accomplishment were his children. He was never short when bragging about his grandchildren. Family came first for him, ALWAYS!

You would often find Scot off the beaten path in his side-by-side or truck, always on a look out for things out of place. But if truth was known, he was checking for wildlife of any kind. He enjoyed farming, hunting, dutch oven cooking, (He made a great cobbler), collecting good old western movies.... and John Wayne.

Scot is survived by his parents, Preston and Connie Allen. Daughter, Kimberly and (Kenneth) Sanchez of Mesa, Arizona. Grandchildren, Aaron and Decora Sanchez. Daughter, Sara Lin Allen, and son, Mathew Scot Allen of Mesa, Arizona. Brother, Kent and (Kristine) Allen of Soda Springs, Idaho. Brother, Tony and (Cindy) Allen of Heber City, Utah. Sister, Tena and (Alan) Heward of St. George, Utah.

He is preceded in death by one loving Sister, Linda Allen.

The service will be held on Thursday May 20,2021 at the Hooper LDS Church (281 East Hooper Ave.) at 11:00 am with a viewing from 9:30 - 10:30. Scot F. Allen will be laid to rest in the Hyrum City Cemetery, Hyrum, Utah.
