Sharon Jean Hensley Averett, 71, of Soda Springs passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at her home.
Sharon was born on November 9, 1940 in Blackwell, Oklahoma the daughter of Marion Ishmael and Fern Asay Hensley.
She attended school in Bremerton, WA and Blackwell, OK and went to Jr. High in Bremerton, WA, and attended High School in Lovell, WY through 10th Grade.
Sharon married Jerold Asay Averett on August 10, 1957 in Lovell, Wyoming.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served as Ward Secretary and various other positions.
Sharon was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Soda Springs Golf Club. She enjoyed quilting, bowling and golfing.
She loved her family and always made holidays and birthdays special and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Jerold of Soda Springs, ID, one son, Wayne (Lori) Averett of Pocatello, ID, and two daughters, Lynda Kaye Armstrong of Pocatello, ID, Lynette Averett (Bill Swett) of Granger, WY. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a brother Stanley Hensley and a sister Joyce Hensley Johnson. She was preceded in death by a son, Mac Averett, a sister Beverly Hensley and her parents.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Noon at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Thursday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
