Shyrl Barker, 94 of Soda Springs, Idaho, passed away on February 8, 2025, at his home. Shyrl was born on August 28, 1930, to Alvin and June Barker in Murray, Utah. Shyrl attended Granite High School and worked most of his life on a tractor seat. Shyrl had a passion for green farm equipment, new cars, and trucks.

Shyrl married Ann Nielsen in the Salt Lake Temple on August 5, 1953.

Ann Nielsen, 88 of Soda Springs, passed away on June 25, 2023, at her home. Ann was born May 23, 1935, to Herman and Vera Nielsen in Preston, Idaho. Ann was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, and graduated from Cyprus High School. Ann was a talented cook, seamstress and played the piano and organ for many years. Ann loved all things music and having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit her.

In 1960, they moved to Soda Springs, where they raised their family on the family farm. They were both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Shyrl and Ann are survived by their four children, Larane Hogan, Dean, Glen (Margaret) and Dow (Deanne) all of Soda Springs. They have 16 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Graveside services will be held for Shyrl and Ann in the spring with burial at the Fairview Cemetery.
