Stephanie K. Shelton Gorton, 68, passed away on May 9, 2021 in Phoenix, AZ surrounded by her husband Jim and granddaughter Courtney.

She was born Sept. 11, 1952 in Salt Lake City, UT.  She was the oldest of 5 children born to K.E. Shelton and Retta Giles Mallette.

Stephanie grew up in Salt Lake City, UT and graduated from East High School.  She then attended LDS Business College where she met her sweetheart Jim.  They both received their endowments March 1971 and went to the Temple on dates.  They were married July 9, 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple.  They were both 18 years old.  After LDS Business College she supported Jim when he transferred to BYU Provo, UT.  She was a sweetheart supporting her husband in school and his many church callings, and his many moves.

Stephanie was blessed with three sons and one daughter.

Stephanie was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed her calling making Birthday Cards to the Relief Society sisters on their birthday.  She also enjoy playing the piano for the Primary.

Stephanie had a beautiful singing voice and shared her talents with others.  She was member of Mormon Youth Choir and loved playing the piano.

She is survived by her husband Jim, son William James (Jody), David (Ryan), Michelle Marlene Gorton Gambles (Rich) and 3 granddaughters, Courtney, Sierra and Kayla and a grandson Nick Gorton.  Sister Rebecca Gilgen, Meretta England (Kevin), Matthew Shelton and Marc Shelton West Jordan, UT.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Jim's parents and a son Nathan Gorton

Services will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021at the Soda Springs Stake Center (290 South Third West) at Noon with a viewing 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church and the interment will follow in the Soda Springs Fairview Cemetery.
