Steven Peter Humphreys of Grace, Idaho passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016 after a long illness following a liver transplant.
He was surrounded by his family and a lot of love in the end.
Steven was born on August 20, 1952 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Dean and Mellie Humphreys.
He attended Soda Springs High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1969 and served for 2.5 years before being honorably discharged. He married his wife, Patti, on March 24, 1980 in Elko, Nevada and eventually settled in Grace, Idaho where they raised their two children, Trever and Mandy.
Steven was an avid hunter, golfer, fisher, outdoorsman, horseman, father, husband, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He was passionate about his family and they were his pride. His grandchildren, Kylie and Chason, were the light of his life and the reason he fought so hard to heal. Steven held his friends and family in the highest esteem and he was loyal to those he cared for. Everything he did was with passion and love. All who knew him loved him and will miss him.
Steven is survived by his wife, Patti Humphreys of Grace; daughter Mandy Dell Humphreys and her partner, Edward Sherman of Seattle, Washington; son, Trever Humphreys and his wife, Misty Dawn Humphreys of Grace; grandchildren, Kylie Day and Chason Dusk of Grace; brothers Sam Humphreys of Soda Springs and Charlie Humphreys of Georgetown; sisters Tammy Merrill of Soda Springs and Penny Humphreys of Washington state. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Mellie Humphreys, and nephew, Brad Humphreys.
Family will visit with friends on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs. A celebration of Life will also be held that evening from 5-7 p.m. in Grace at the Grace American Legion Hall.
