Steven Lorrin Tingey, 75; of Grace passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in Provo, Utah.
Steven was born February 3, 1935 in Brigham City, Utah the son of Lorrin Page and Anna Alvord Tingey.
He was raised and educated in Brigham City and graduated from Box Elder High School. He also attended Utah State University and participated in boxing, wrestling and rodeo teams.
Steven married Ruth Nellie Weir on November 2, 1962 in Brigham City, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Utah LDS Temple.
They moved to Bear River City, UT. and later they moved their family to Grace, ID. where he Dairy Farmed.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served in the Great Lakes Mission and various other church callings.
Steve was also a member of the State and National Holstein Associations.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and especially his grandkids. He also enjoyed showing and fitting Purebred Holstein Cattle.
Steven is survived by his wife Ruth, and two sons and three daughters; John and Jennifer Tingey of Rathdrum, ID; Michael and Ashley Tingey of Grace, ID; Rebecca and Jim Tannehill of Yellowstone Park WY; Angela and Marty Moss of Chubbuck, ID; Amanda and Nick Berg of Shelly, ID. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and two sisters; Kayla and Grant Nelson of Mantua, UT; Maren and Gary Dixon of Brigham City, UT; and a sister-in-law, Louise Tingey of Bear River City, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents and Lorrin and Anna Tingey and a brother Ben Tingey.
Services were held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Noon at the Thatcher-Williams Ward Chapel in Niter, ID. Burial was in the Lago Cemetery.
