Obituary

On May 15, 2016 our beloved Son, Brother, and Friend, Thayne Richmond Adkins, 18, of Soda Springs, Idaho passed into the arms of his Savior. Thayne was an athlete, musically talented, and a lover of animals and the outdoors. A sharp-witted and intelligent student, Thayne excelled in many areas especially math and science. He practiced speaking Spanish, French and Japanese. He was a senior at Soda Springs High School where he was the President of the National Honor Society and was graduating as a Valedictorian. At the time of his passing, he was registered to attend the University of Idaho in the Materials Engineering program, with plans to enter the Navy ROTC. Thayne was a loyal employee at Caribou Pet Care and third year Life Guard at Lava Hot Springs. Some of his best talents were his willing attitude and determination to succeed. He loved riding his bicycle in the mountains, high diving, and was very much at home on the soccer field. Thayne could often be found serving others. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a loving older brother to Nate and Aiden Adkins, and beloved baby brother of Amy and Susie. Thayne was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Merril and Rose Hoffmann; and an Aunt, Marilyn Rose Parkes. He is survived by: his parents Lorin and Jeanie Adkins, four siblings: Amy (Chris) Chapman, Susie (Kevin) Pope, Nate and Aiden Adkins; Nieces: Madison and Hayden Chapman; Nephews: Tyler and Baby Boy Pope; his Grandparents, Rich and Eve Adkins of Waynesboro, PA.; and many devoted Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. The Family would like to thank the community of Soda Springs and the Students and Faculty of SSHS for their outpouring of love and support. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 11:00am at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center, 290 S. 3rd West. Viewings will be held on Friday, May 20, 6–8pm, and Saturday 9-10:30am at the SS Stake Center. Interment will be at the Randolph, UT Cemetery.
