Obituary

Thomas "Tom" Ransom Moore, 90, of Bancroft, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008 in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born April 3, 1918 at Hatch, Idaho the son of Louis R and Christina Hatch Moore.
He was raised and educated in Hatch, graduated from North Gem High School and attended Weiser, Idaho vocational School. He had also lived at Midvale and Arimo Idaho.
He married Jean Charlotte Pratt, October 9, 1946 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Tom served in the U S Army during WWII.
He retired from the Idaho Transportation Department and worked on many of the ranches and farms in the area and also shoed horses.
Tom was a High Priest in the Bancroft LDS Ward. He had served in the Sunday School Presidency, High Priest Group Leader, Weeblo Leader and as a Scout Master.
He was a member of the Bancroft Lions Club. Was a rodeo judge and pickup man for the Bancroft 24th of July celebration. He taught hunter education for 49 years for the NRA then with the Idaho Fish and Game. He was also a volunteer of the Chesterfield Historical Town site.
He enjoyed leather work, dutch oven cooking, horse shoeing, black smithing, gun repair, wood work, (especially doll cradles he gave away at Christmas).
Tom is survived by his wife Jean Moore of Bancroft, and 3 sons; Michael D Moore, Casper, Wyoming; Nairn L and Carol Moore, Bancroft, ID and Louis E Moore, Preston, ID; also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a sister Margaret Hebdon of Smithfield, Utah. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Raymond and Byron Moore and a granddaughter LeLia Michelle Moore.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 28th at Noon at the Bancroft LDS Chapel with Bishop Ken Christensen officiating. Burial was in the Chesterfield Cemetery with Military Honors.
