Obituary

Travis Wayne Hopkins was born June 2, 1976, in Soda Springs, Idaho. He was the first-born son to Gary and Sharon Hopkins. A short thirteen months later Travis was joined by his little brother Tysen.

Gary and Sharon raised the boys on the family farm in Bailey Creek. They helped with chores around the farm and learned the value of hard work. But it wasn't all just work they also had lots of fun out on the farm too. They would get on the wheelers or bikes and go on rides out in the hills as a family and raced around the mountains. In 2007 Travis became an uncle when his niece Paetyn was born and again in 2010 when Mattysen was born. Travis loved being an uncle he adored his nieces with all his heart, he loved them like they were his own. The girls loved their uncle with their whole hearts. They all had the best and strongest bond.

Travis attended school in Soda Springs. Travis loved school, and his studies came pretty easy for him, and he did well in school. Travis attended Soda Springs High School where he continued to learn the value of hard work and work ethics. He worked at the Soda Shoppe and at Common Cents while going to high school. Travis graduated from Soda High is 1994 with honors. Travis went on to college after high school. Travis moved to Pocatello, Idaho to attend ISU where he received his Associates degree in Computer Science. Travis took his degree and his love for computers and became one of the best computer technicians. After he graduated, he went to work for Computer Warehouse as a technician, from there he went to work for the Pocatello School District in the Tech Department.

Travis loved to read and learn and work on the computer. Travis was and amazing chef and baker. He always had the best treats. He would get recipes out of his grandma's cookbooks and try to make it as good as they did. Travis found his passion in the theatre. Travis loved all aspects of the theatre from the technical side, directing, to acting, he also found that he liked to sing too. Travis lit up when he was on stage and if you have ever seen Travis perform you seen it. Watching Travis on stage was pure enjoyment he brought you right into the moment.

With his passion for theatre, he was part of the Westside Player Community theatre for the last 20+ years and the President for the last 6 years. Travis' passion for the theatre and his love for his Westside family was his driving force behind his dream and going into the future of Westside.
