IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tysen Don
Hopkins
July 10, 1977 – May 16, 2023
Tysen Don Hopkins, 45, of Soda Springs, Idaho passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023 in Salt Lake City, UT in the arms of his loving wife Kimi Nicole and surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Tysen was born July 10, 1977 to Gary and Sharon Hopkins in Soda Springs, Idaho just a short 13 months after his older brother Travis. Tysen was raised in Bailey Creek on the family farm. Tysen was an "All American Boy," he loved being outside playing, riding bikes, motorcycles, go carts, anything that moved. Tysen learned the value of hard work, good work ethic, the meaning of a mans word by helping out with chores and working and learning from his dad. Tysen learned so much from his dad and when he was old enough Tysen went to work at the family business, Custom Iron Work where he continued to learn and work side by side with his dad. Tysen learned and loved to weld, fabricate, machine, and build things with his hands. He loved to work with his hands and to create something or figure something out and he always felt accomplished and excited to see the finished product. Tysen also had a deep love for classic cars and trucks. He loved working on them, building them, painting them, and driving them. He built and painted many cars and trucks. Tysen and his friends and family started a car club, The Main Street Cruisers, and put on an annual car show in memory of their friend Matt. Tysen always enjoyed going to car shows with his family and friends, he loved seeing what someone else may have done but took great pride in all the ones he built. His passion could be seen in all he did and accomplished.
Tysen attended school in Soda Springs and graduated from Soda Springs High School in 1995. If you seen Tysen and his friends at school you were pretty lucky, he always had more important things to do. During high school he enjoyed shop classes, the hands on classes that he thought taught you something useful, such as wood shop or anything automotive. After high school Tysen went on to receive his welding cerifications to better his knowlede in his career with the family business. He always said the greatest teacher he ever had was his dad Gary. He was to talented and amazing at what he did.
In 2006 Tysen found and fell in love with the love of his life Kimi Nicole Wilcox and thats when they started their amazing life together. The spring of 2007 Tysen found out he was going to be a daddy. On November 28, 2007 Paetyn Rae was born and changed his life forever. Then is the summer of 2010 Tysen found out he was going to become a daddy to another little girl. On September 21, 2010 Mattysen (Roo) Kimbree was born and his heart grew even bigger. On April 23, 2011 Tysen and Kimi were married in Las Vegas at the Viva Las Vegas Car Show, fitting for them. Tysen loved hanging out with his girls. They would go for drives in one of the "Hot Rods", go camping, fishing, wood cutting, and fires in the yard anything to hang out with them. Tysen would teach them and guide them and show them the things he loved and in the evening they would curl up and watch movies. Tysen was an amazing and devoted husband and father, the girls were his favorite place to be.
In April 2020 Tysen was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma, a rare aggressive B cell cancer. Tysen began his hard battle with the same go to positive stubborn attitude that he tackled everything with. He was always positive with the best outlook, and fighting spirit. He faced all the trials with grace, determiniation, and the heart of a warrior. Tysen returned to his Heavenly Father peacefully, no longer sick or in pain and into the loving arms of family and friends that has passed before him.
Tysen was a bright light in this world. He along with his family and friends did so much to help the community, he would help anybody with anything. Tysen taught us all to fight for everything with strenght, love, and a positive attitiude.. HE taught us to never give up escpecially if it was important, "can't" was not in his vocabulary. To be your own person, Don't take anything lying down. If you want something go after it, it's not going to be handed to you, work for what you want. Love with your whole heart. Tysen fought with all of these things clear till the end and he never gave up and he never quit. Tysen is one of the strongest most genuine man most of us will ever have the pleasure of knowing.
