Valerie Metcalfe, 63, of Soda Springs passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Caribou Memorial Hospital.

Valerie was born on February 23, 1951 in Newton Hyde, Cheshire, England the daughter of Francis and Doris Lowe Fletcher.

She lived in England until 1976 then moved to Cornish, Utah and has also lived in Preston, ID and Fontana, CA before moving to Soda Springs where she has lived for the past 32 years.

She married William Metcalfe on March 30, 1968 in Cheshire, England.

Valerie was a member of the Pink Ladies (Caribou Memorial Hospital Auxiliary).

She enjoyed bowling, doll making, sewing and playing bingo.

She is survived by her husband William Metcalfe of Soda Springs, ID, and three daughters, Debbie Kladis of Soda Springs, ID, Tracy & Brandon Cardon, of Benson, UT, Donna & Scott Shaw of Soda Springs, ID.  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren & 1 great-grandchildren & 3 brothers & 2 sisters.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a nephew Lee Howard and mother-in-law Mary Elizabeth May-Collins-Balckwell-Metcalfe, father-in-law William Metcalfe I, and brother-in-law Ian Metcalfe.

Services will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Hooper LDS Chapel in Soda Springs.  The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services.  Burial will be in the Cornish Cemetery.
