Vann Christensen, 76, formerly of Henry, ID passed away January 12, 2012 at home in Preston, ID. Vann was born July 2nd, 1935 in Henry, ID to Ray and Elvera Christensen.

On November 13th, 1959 Vann married his sweetheart Connie Bassett and they continued the family homestead in Henry on a 1500 acre ranch.


Vann's passions in life were working on the ranch, snowmobiling, working in his shop, jumping on a piece of heavy equipment to move dirt, and spending time with his family.

Vann is survived by his wife Connie of Preston, ID and his four children. MaeDee and Garth Brinkerhoff of Idaho Falls, Frank and Heidi Christensen of Boise, Tara and Jeff Allan of McCammon, and Brittney and fiance Alan Short of Midvale, UT. Vann and Connie have 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and a brother.

Vann will be greatly missed by his family and friends, his legacy will live on as the great American cowboy.

Services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Hooper LDS Chapel (281 E. Hooper Ave.) in Soda Springs. The family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services.
