IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vicky Lynn
Amidan
March 31, 1951 – January 9, 2026
Soda Springs, Idaho
Vicky Lynn Weir Amidan, 74, passed away January 9, 2026 in Soda Springs, Idaho. She was born in American Fork, Utah on March 31, 1951. At a very young age she and her siblings LeRoy, Linda, and Clifford were adopted into the Weir family, joining big sister Ruth and parents John and Selma.
Vicky grew up in Brigham City and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
In May of 1974, Vicky married David R. Johnson in Brigham City, Utah, and together they welcomed their two children, Bryan Paul and Becky Lynn. They shared eight years of marriage before later divorcing.
In 1989, Vicky moved with her children to Grace, Idaho, a place she quickly grew to love, especially because it meant being close to her sister, Ruth. Vicky lived a simple life and had a free spirit, never one to stay in the same place for too long. In her later years, she spent time living in places like Soda Springs, Downey, and Malad, just to name a few. Vicky loved her children, grandchildren and her great granddaughter, she always had a special place in her heart for the many dogs she had over the years, and was always a proud aunt.
Vicky is survived by her children Bryan (Kelly) Johnson of Logan, Utah and Becky (Kevin) Hemmert of Grace, Idaho, as well as 7 grandchildren (Bailey, Anna, David, Brynlee, Ryker, Tripp, Krew) and a great granddaughter, 3 nieces (Rebecca, Angela, Amanda) and 3 nephews (John, Micheal, Dennis) whom she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Selma Weir, whom she especially admired and loved, as well as her father, John Weir. She was also preceded by a niece Vicky lynn Christensen, siblings LeRoy Weir, Linda Christensen, Clifford Weir, and Ruth Tingey
Vicky spent her final year at Heritage Assisted Living in Soda Springs. Her children would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff for the exceptional care, compassion, and understanding they provided
Services for Vicky will be held on Thursday, January 15th, at 11:00 a.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lago Cemetery.
