IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Victoria Jane
Mclain
April 1, 1949 – May 11, 2020
Victoria Jane McLain left this world peacefully on May 11, 2020 at home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.
Victoria was born in Pocatello, Idaho April 1, 1949 to Alberta Jane Walker Garrett and James Tirrie Garrett. Victoria was thrilled when she was 4 years old and her little brother William (Bill) Garrett was born. The family lived in Idaho and later moved to Oregon where her Dad worked as an Ordained Minister for the First Southern Baptist Church. When Victoria was eight years old her Dad unexpectedly passed away and the family moved back to Idaho to be closer to family. There her Mom remarried her second Dad Jack Daniels and the family all moved with him to the farm in Pingree, Idaho. Victoria graduated High School in Aberdeen, Idaho in 1967 and later Graduated from Idaho State University as a Cosmetologist.
Victoria married the love of her life Evan L. McLain and moved to Bancroft, Idaho where she lived the rest of her life. Together they raised two daughters MerriJane (Chad) Hayes (children Wyatt and Walker Hayes) of Garden Valley, California, and Holly (Joshua) Owens (children Donevan, Hunter, Sienna and Vivienne Owens) of Bancroft, Idaho. In addition, Victoria was a Stepmom to Evan's children, Kevin (Nicole) McLain (children Tyler and McKayla McLain) of Bancroft, Idaho, Shaunna McLain (children Dusty and Shane Tillotson and Austin Wutkke) of Soda Springs, Idaho, and Bobbi Metz (children Keva Winkler and Kristen Terry) of Sandy, Utah.
Victoria converted later in life to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Victoria was a uniquely gifted and creative artist. Through the years she made crafts and artwork that were simply astonishing to many, which included spinning wool, knitting, crochet, embroidery, sculpting, sewing, gardening, glass blowing, painting, cooking, doll and jewelry making.
Victoria deeply loved her husband, children, thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Granddaughters, Scarlett and Alexis Owens and her Parents James Garrett, Jack, and Alberta Daniels. Victoria was a devoted friend, wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held at the Bancroft Cemetery.
