Elsie May "Viki" Brazier, 81, passed away peacefully to our Heavenly Father on Friday, October 19, 2012, at the home of her daughter Viki in Grace, ID.
Born September 17, 1931 in Bronx, NY, the second of four children, to William and Carrie "Dottie" Haviland Lines. Raised in the NYC area she met and married her husband Albert Louis Brazier on March 16, 1951. Together they made their homes in Yonkers, NY, Old Bridge, NJ, Smithfield and Logan, UT, and Grace, ID.
Viki was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She along with her husband and children were baptized by missionaries from Vernal, UT and Niter, ID in 1968 and later had their marriage solemnized and their family sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Dedicating their home in Grace as a "refuge to our family" several members of the family moved through the home to make their lives in Idaho.
An avid genealogist and Temple patron, Viki was able to research and do Temple work for most of her ancestors. She along with her husband served as missionaries in Chesterfield, Idaho during its reconstruction. She also attended DUP meetings and was quick to point out that as a pioneer the merited membership.
She was a strong and faithful matriarch.
She is survived by sons William (Tammy) Brazier of Richmond, VA, Jared (Amy) Brazier of Orem, UT, daughters, Viki (Jerry) Bean of Grace, ID, Sharon (Paul) Parish of Meridian, ID, Donna (Jim) Dexter, of Grace, ID, as well as many grand and great-grandchildren that she loved with all her heart. Also surviving, her brother Stephen (Louise) Lines of Sebastian, FL, a sister, Betty Tostanoski of New York, NY and one sister-in-law Betty Jean Lines of Southbury, CT. She is preceded in death by her husband Albert Brazier, daughter Deborah Brazier, foster son Christopher LaPort, brother William and her parents.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Noon at the Grace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, she would appreciate donations be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Missionary program.
