Wilda Holbrook Phelps, 102, of Soda Springs, Idaho returned home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, September 3, 2018.
Wilda and her twin sister Elaine were born on December 19, 1915, to Jonathan Earl Holbrook and Mamie Call. They were welcomed by a brother Lawrence and two sisters Florence and Lila. Brothers Cal and Max soon followed. Wilda attended Elementary School in Chesterfield, then three years of High School in Soda Springs, graduating from North Gem High School in 1936.
Wilda married Christopher Henry Phelps on November 5, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later sealed for Time and All Eternity in the Logan Utah Temple, on February 11, 1971. Upon returning from their honeymoon they settled in 10 Mile Pass where they worked side by side. Wilda and Chris became the proud parents of Marco Ann Phelps, Yvett Bea Phelps and Preston C. Phelps. Wilda's greatest love was her family. She enjoyed homemaking, gardening, embroidery, family history, reading and quilting.
Wilda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she enjoyed the many callings she served in. She especially enjoyed her Stake Missionary Calling.
Wilda is survived by her daughter Marco, son Preston and daughter-in-law Shauna, Brother Max (Theo) Holbrook, 14 grandchildren,31 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chris, daughter Yvett, son-in-law Grant, great granddaughter Laramie Jo, brothers; Lawrence and Cal and sisters; Florence, Lila and Elaine.
Services will be held on Friday September 7th, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Soda Springs 4th Ward Chapel. The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Friday morning from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the church, prior to the service. Internment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
