Obituary

William "Neal" Preece passed away peacefully on October 6, 2022, in Preston, Idaho.

He was the fourth child of six, born to Francis "Frank" and Patricia "Pat" Preece on September 8, 1959. Being a Preece, he was active in 4-H and had a strong love for our country and the flag. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Neal had a kind soul and loved who he loved!

He graduated from Soda Springs high school in 1979. He enjoyed basketball and supported the "Cards" by acting as their team manager. After high school, Neal moved to Shelley, Idaho where he lived the majority of his adult life. He proudly worked for Dawn Enterprises in Blackfoot, Idaho.
The highlight of his life happened when his niece Lisa was born. She was the joy of his life until Logann came along. Logann was his best friend; they had a strong bond. Although, he truly loved all of his 14 nieces and nephews.

Neal always had a love for music. He had quite a collection of music. Once in a while, would let you borrow a cassette tape or two. He would tell us about the different bands and/or songs he enjoyed. He could go on for days if you'd let him! He enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz play especially, with his mom or older brother Dean. He proudly displayed his Jazz flag and other memorabilia around his room.

He leaves behind his sister, Jean and Kelly Mace of Afton, WY; brother Bryan and Holly Preece, Battle Mountain, NV; and sister-in-law Gayla and Larry Ledinsky, Spring Creek, Nevada; his nieces and nephews and their families; and a childhood friend Alesha Williams Kuhn.

He reunited with his parents; brothers; Dean and Kelly Preece, his sister; Patricia, brother-in-law; Jon Hall, sister-in-law;  Leann Preece, and niece; Summer Mace, on the other side.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Webber and the staff at Caribou Memorial Nursing Home and the Franklin County Transitional Care for the love and care they have given him over the years.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Noon at the Sims Funeral Home.  Family will visit with friends from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services.  Burial will be in the Soda Springs Fairview Cemetery.
